Challenge

A landowner was severing a rural lot for a new home and needed a hydrogeological assessment and well design to satisfy the municipality's planning conditions.

Approach

We conducted a site investigation, reviewed regional groundwater data, and prepared a hydrogeological assessment demonstrating adequate water supply. A well design was produced in accordance with O. Reg. 903 and submitted with the building permit application.

Challenge

A failing conventional septic system on a mature rural property needed to be replaced. The lot had limited area for a new leaching bed and a high seasonal water table.

Approach

We completed a site evaluation and percolation testing to characterize the soil conditions. A raised bed system was designed to address the water table constraints, and a permit application was prepared and submitted to the local municipality.

Challenge

A developer proposed a rural residential subdivision requiring a water supply study to demonstrate that groundwater could support the proposed number of lots without adverse impacts on neighbouring wells.

Approach

We reviewed regional hydrogeology, conducted field investigations, and prepared a water supply study addressing yield, quality, and interference potential. The report was submitted in support of the draft plan of subdivision application.

Challenge

A property owner was constructing a new four-season cottage on a waterfront lot. Setback requirements from the lake and limited lot area constrained the available location for a sewage system.

Approach

We evaluated the site, conducted percolation testing, and designed a system that met all required setbacks while fitting within the available area. The permit application was coordinated with the local building department.

Challenge

A contractor needed a well permit for a new residential well on a rural property. The application required a well design and supporting documentation submitted to the Ministry of the Environment.

Approach

We prepared the well design and permit application package in accordance with O. Reg. 903 requirements and submitted it on behalf of the client.

Challenge

A seasonal property had no existing sewage system and the site conditions — shallow bedrock and limited lot area — ruled out a conventional or raised bed system. A holding tank was the only viable option.

Approach

We confirmed site constraints through investigation, designed a holding tank system sized for the proposed use, and prepared the permit application with supporting documentation.
